Instant Strawberry Chia Jam

Serves: 4 jars
Ingredients
  • 4 cups of strawberries, washed, hulled and cut into halves or quarters
  • 5 tablespoons of ground chia seeds
  • 6 tablespoon of agave nectar
Instant Strawberry Chia Jam - All natural, raw strawberry chia jam with only 3 ingredients. Just mix and mash. It's that easy!
Methods
  1. Add all ingredients into a bowl, mix and mash using a potato masher (chunky pieces) or blend in a blender (smoother texture).
  2. To store, place it in an airtight container, and keep it in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
Notes
If you prefer a thicker jam, just allow the chia seeds to set for 1 hour.
If you prefer a smoother texture, you can blend all the ingredients together using a blender.
You can also use maple syrup (vegan) or raw honey (non vegan) instead of agave nectar.
I prefer to use Spectrum Organic Ground Chia Seeds. You can find them at most health food sections of Sprouts Farmers Market, Whole Foods Market or purchase them online from amazon.com.
If you cannot find ground chia seeds, you can use a coffee grinder, or a mortar and pestle to grind the whole chia seeds.
To keep your strawberries (berries) from growing mold during storage, soak them for 1 minute in 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water and then rinse.
